Small Update and Reminder...

Alrighty everyone, how's it goin' today?  Well it's been somewhat of a busy day today even though there was one thing I unfortunately couldn't get done due to time constraints, but HEY, atleast now I'm deep into my next big painting piece and it's going rather fantastic in fact, and even better, all signs point to it being done before New Year's so that's obviously a pretty awesome way to close out '08.  Anyways, keeping this update small b/c I'm fendin' on doing a review on another blog like RIGHT NOW, so lemme just come right out and say it:  the other blogs likely won't be up until (at the latest) 12/31.  I know, I know; I said this Monday for sure but I'm just not in the mood to do them today.  That and the fact that I was painting for about six hours today, cooked dinner and watched a movie in which I'm actually set to review in a minute (and doing some small babysitting at that), the blog updates for today were not on the agenda.  Even worse, I haven't gotten a chance to play any games today really, so hopefully I'll have that time tomorrow (and am dead-set to force it to be available w/o jeapordizing any other work;  yes, I have my "ways" so to speak).

So that's the FINAL date revision for these blogs, and-just in case I haven't mentioned it already-I might be curtailing some of the blogs in together.  Eight of them really does sound like too fucking many when you think about it, so the gist is to just streamline a few of them together but keep the more opposite ones seperate. You know, logical shit.  Welp, that's all I got to say on that.  Hope you guys have an enjoyable late night and get some fresh sleep.  Only two more days left in the year; live 'em out to the fullest.  I know I will.  See 'ya.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!

.....It's almost New Years.  What?  You guys thought I was gonna proclaim the end of the world as we know it?  Bullshit to THAT.  Not when you've got great tunes like Cowboy Bebop's Want It All Back playing in your ears (dear God, that just sounded like a product placement.  But it's for something actually GOOD, so it can slide).  And anyways, how are all of you doing on this fine Saturday?  Me?  Well it's been pretty good.  Caught up with an old friend, got my music software working at last and getting reaqquainted with it, and managed to get a bomb-ass idea for my next picture at last, as well as some further progression in the comic I'm planning on releasing/start to publish around the end of next month or towards the mid/end of Febuary (and seeing as how SFIV is coming out in Feb., it makes sense to release it then as a sort of complimentary present right?  RIGHT?!?  Eh who am I kidding that's a DUMB idea), as the 1st issue's getting closer to completion but character designs still need to be finalized.  Moving on, seeing as how I've only got a couple of more hours (if that) before it's time to hit the hay, I guess I should let you in on ANOTHER setback.  And as you may've guessed...

...It's the damn blogs.  I know, I know; I said I was gonna have them all up and running by this Saturday (which uh just passed 10 fucking minutes ago), but time just hasn't been kind to me.  And another thing,..I think this "holiday" thing is getting to me too, as you know when you usually relax and don't get much shit done?  Well it's been that way for me the past few days (or atleast I think so personally), but lucky my sorry ass as my "off time" still includes working on stuff, even if it's just in a more sedate pace.  Things will definitely pick up on Sunday as THAT'S when I'll have the other blogs up, and Monday, when I plan on updating atleast a few of them and getting to work on the next part of the comic and my picture.  Of course, a proper bit of time's gonna be needed to get ready for that SFIV tournament (STILL can't fucking believe I'm this lucky.  Norfolk usually NEVER gets dibs on shit like this, and it's happening at MULTIPLE spots in the city?  Very funny God; you play a good joke, but I'll wait 'till Saturday to believe.  Of course you can threaten to kill me or some shit like that and I MIGHT believe a little earlier.  Maybe hehe), so yeah this week looks like I'll be busy, and good thing too since I really want the upcoming weekend to be free so I can let the big 2-1 sink in.

So yeah, that's the plan.  And as for some stuff I'll be covering over the week (if all goes to plan):

Resident Evil: Degeneration, Zack and Miri Make A Porno, Iji, Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, NATHAT, Kakurenbo, Naruto chapters, Resident Evil 5, SFIV, and The Dark Knight,..though honestly it could be anything else and nothing of what I just said; I'm unpredicable like that.  Hopefully that's clear enough for you guys.  Oh and yes I will definitely be making a post on New Year's Eve, so look forward to that.  Anyways, love you guys, live the night and bask in the day, an' lata.

And Hello Again...

How's everyone doing on this fine, FINE Christmas Eve?  Enjoy my little pastorial-esque opening?  No?  Eh me either.  I'm certainly not the preacher type, but just like (most) of them, I'm hoping you all are enjoying your time off during the holidays.  For me, personally, having no job but the urge to keep working on my crafts actually creates a delimia; for the time I'd LIKE to just cool down, I'm finding myself working (albiet at a more relaxed pace these past two days) on these projects when I should, 'ya know, be hangin' out and bonding with the family.  Actually, I've done a fair share of that lately too, so somewhere in my fucking crazy ass head things are on the right setting hehe.  But I disgress (eh maybe the wrong choice of words; having just seen Resident Evil Degeneration, anything close to 'digest' is too strong to use, though admittalby the actual fights in the flick were damn weak; MOTL), after Christmas, I aughta be plowing full steam ahead and then two days right before the big 21, cool off again for the (I can't quite STILL believe it's this early) Street Fighter IV tournament, which is just awesome in it's purest, most unadulturated form.

Anyways, the reason for this update is to actually be a jackass (j/k), or rather to say, to say that an "update" isn't in the works today.  Remember when I said I would have all the various blogs set up by Wendsday?  Not gonna fucking happen.  I doubt I'll have any time tonight to do it; between my picture I'm working on, the possibilty of working on the comic some more, and watching another two or three more episodes of NATHAT before the rigilously early 1:20 am bedrest, there's not gonna be much time to set up those blogs in a QUALITY way I'd like, so let's get a little more realistic here.  Say instead of Wednsday, how's about Saturday?  How's that sound?  I figure tomorrow (as it's Christmas) will be my last downtime, and I'm likely gonna binge on Iji, Smash Bros., Mario Kart and maybe even Mega Man 8 or Parasite Eve on the good old greyed rustic treasure of ancient past, ala the Playstation 1 while working on the next scene for the comic, then Friday'll be more or less dedicated to my next picture, so the one day I can really set the rest of the blogs up (and likely even put a few more posts in the ones already up) is the very last of this week.  Hopefully this won't come to bite me in the ass.

Anyhows, laterz, and Merry Christmas  and Happy New Year (and happy birthday just in case; OH yeah,...I gotta remember to tell Opera to fuck itself.  Seriously.  What the fuck is it acting up for all of a sudden?  I might gotta rant on it, but that's later).  Later out.

So Here It Goes...

Okay folks, what's up and how's it hanging,...in life (I just want EXTRA clarification on that since a lot of people automatically reach for their crotch if it's a guy.  Man,..guys eh hehe)?  Anyhows, as I said about Friday, I'm in the process of setting up some other blogs so that I spread out the posts and keep more logical management of them.  However, I'm still wanting to make sure I can not only keep The Neo Escapades as the "hub" blog of sorts to all the others, but also in a week or so add custom graphics so that, you know, they actually show a bit more of my creative side and personality (though I'll give the template designers their props; some nice looking templates 'specially this one I've got, though that's an opinionated saying).  Anyways, this post'll list the blogs as they're created, as soon as possible, though I'll need to be a bit more fucking realistic and admit the fact that it could take 'till Wednsday to get ALL 7 or so of them set up.  So, uh, here shit goes...

  Gaming/Gadgets/Technology:  http://theneogaminggadget.blogspot.com

  Animaton/Art/Comics of both worlds:  http://theneoarts.blogspot.com

  Film/Television:  http://theneotubedcelluiod.blogspot.com

I'm really hoping a clickable link forms up from these.  Will keep updating as I pop out the little babies out of my romantic affair with Mrs. Internet (yes, we're married.  The honeymoon in Hawaii was so incredible, even when the hut got set on fire by the hula dancer at the ceremony as me and the misses were, uh,..."swapping circuit boards" so to speak).  See ya'll later.

BEFORE THE RESTRUCTUREMENT...

Welp folks, as you all know, in an attempt to get things MUCH more organized around here and to allow for more motivating posts in and of themselves, I am going to turn theneoescapades into an all-about generalistic blog (for my standards) giving casual insight into what's goin' on with the other blogs, and just anything interesting or mundanely curious-provoking I do with my own life.  So with that said, this will be the last "detailed" post in this blog before the restructurement, which should take place over the weekend and everything aughta be in place by the end of Sunday (and if not then, then by the end of Monday for sure).  Yeah I know you guys are gonna miss the crazy posting on THIS particular blog (that's right, all ZERO of you hehe), but think of it this way: now it's gonna be on like seven other blogs that I'll have to manage simultaneously, though on one account this is actually me making things harder for myself but I'm used to that shit by now hehe.

Anyways, man have I been enjoying Now and Then, Here and There over the past day or so, having seen one episode and more than planning on seeing another episode or two while catching an episode or two of Mezzo and perhaps even Serial Experiments Lian since I've heard nothing but praise for it and I've always wanted to see that after seeing Key (which is due for re-watching anyway).  Interestingly enough, while I was watching that ep. last night, there was a post from a few other users that just seemed to be going all over the place with their assertions and grounds of beliefs and shit like that, calling it a shonen and tearing it down for it's art style while simultaneously saying that all anime looks alike.  Well, YEAH all anime/manga do share a common aesthetic, and I'd like to akin that to a template.  All art or particular breeds have this sense of "shared base aesthetic" and template; it's what identifies them on a casual glance, but as anyone actually into art knows, those who are truly great can more than easily move beyond the template and carve a unique style out of their stuff while still providing something of a base for people to be warmed up to and not be completely intimidated by because, well, we're human, and appearantly we can't have anything TOO new or else we'll be scared off en mass (just look at the disappointing sales of some of the more unique and "new" stuff out there and you'll have your proof right there, sadly.  Oh and by the by, NATHAT (that's my acronym for it) isn't really a shonen, or atleast I think so.  I've seen shonen and that show is markedly different than those in so many ways that pegging it as shonen kinda does it a disservice, but that dudn't necessarily mean shonen sucks b/c obviously it doesn't (and I wouldn't be reading Naruto and planning on reading D. Grey Mann and Soul Eater if that were the case.  Thanks Lins and Kevin, respectively, for showing me those shows.  Will devote some time to them later), but anyway that's an argument for a whole other time and something I'll save for the appropriate new blog when I get that shit set up.

So uh, there goes that hehe.  Fuckin' don't even know where it was going, but I figure that gets the job done as a postly sort of deal.  And with that said, I require my entertainment  so this is about the time to wrap things up.  So here's to the restructuring of The Neo Escapades, and the beginning of a NEWish new era.  This is John here, blessing love and wishing awesomeness, seeing you guys over the weekend.  Take care and have fun.  Later.

REORGANIZATION

Okey dokey folks, how's it hanging,..or going...or chillin',...fuck whatever you wish to accept it as?  Just a simple little question and nothing more, and hopefully there's a pleasant response at the end so I don't have to bash my forehead into a trash compactor's front end (ew,..even though I could sleep till morning to do it.  That's when the trash man comes.  Hey Mr. Trash Man?!  See that can there?  Yeah, two week's worth there, thanks to my lazy ass.  No applause needed hehe).  Anyways, today has been thoroughly awesome.  Overall I guess if I hadn't played Smash Bros. for about 2-3 hours with my good buddy/best friend (and kicking ass in duo matches all the same.  Ikey boy on my side with 30 kills in half an hour.  Heh, Ike-Serving a Kill A Minute At A Time) I would've gotten more work done, but when you're having THAT much fun time just needs to fuck off for a bit 'ya know.  And then there's still Iji to play through and hopefully getting aqquainted with Mario Galaxy over the weekend since that game just seems like it's gonna be incredible when I get my hands on it.  But anyways, back on point.  Regardless of that time "lost", I was able to get some good progress on the comic done as I now have a timescale table in mind, and upload schedule, a marketing plan sort of in the works, and an overall theme set with some plot points and a basic outline for the 1st issue.  Tomorrow will see more work done, specificially on a concept page drawing of the first scene, a concept/test script for said scene, and some basic (very crude/basic) character sketches.  'Tis an awesome time to be energetic.

RIGHT,...so what gives with this update anyway?  Well, while I was outdoors amidst the decidedly gloomy sky writing out ideas for the comic and the sun more than having set (for some reason writing outside at night just seems more fufilling for me), I also had a thought (or rather I should say, a few thoughts) come to me as to how this blog should work.  As you might recall before, I mentioned that I was going to focus mainly on two blogs/sites.  This blog for all the miscenellous stuff (gaming thoughts, political/social thoughts,  film thoughts and shit like that) and another website/blog for the comic.  Well, the latter's still set as there'll be one blog for the comic and one website for the comic in it's entirety, but I do think that putting EVERYTHING else on a single blog could lead to some disorganizationment (check for that word's authenticity, ANYONE).  Therefore, I've decided to commit to multiple blogs (or atleast sections of this blog) organized by catagory, and hopefully even better this main blog itself sort of acting as a gateway to the others with catagory links to them.  The reasoning for all of this?  Well, I assume that having seperate blogs for each catagory will not only keep things more organized, but will also allow me to cover more on pretty much anything and motivate me to commit to each of them.  So, that said, here's the breakdown.

   -theneoescapades: General/life thoughts blog

-untitiled blog 1: Gaming thoughts blog

-untitled blog 2: Film/Television thoughts blog

-untitled blog 3: Animation/comics/manga/anime thoughts blog (I'll have to keep a fine line between this and the one above since in some instances some animation can fit into the other, depending on the type, etc.)

-untitled blog 4: Music thoughts blog

-untitled blog 5: Politics/social/current events blog (local, national, global. You get the idea)

  -untitled blog 6: Comic(s) heads-up blog

-untitled blog 7: Projects (anything other than the comic) blog (including game projects, music projects and links to art projects on dA and artBistro)

-untitled blog 8: Links/Favorites/Shout-Outs blog (for any and everything/one that I think is pretty damn awesome and interesting and worth telling the rest of the world about)

-untitled website:  For comic (current title's "In This Town", so that's the first piece of info about it everyone)

As you can tell, there's still some stuff and details that need to be ironed out, so hopefully over the next few days I can make that happen.  But in the meantime, I have some shit to discover (and no, I'm not discovering my own shit.  That would be wierd.  "MOM?!?  There's some brown stuff that squeeze outta my ass and is floating in the toilet.  Should we call the family doctor?") and a bed time (I set my own) to adhere to.  This is John signing off, hoping you guys and gals and things are enjoying your time doing whatever and making sure you live life to the fullest.  Oh and having a pleasant night and getting your gaming on or whatever you might happen to do.  Until tomorrow, peace out, love, and God bless.  Later out.

RIGHT,...so this gaming thing...

Hello again folks as I welcome you to another post (albiet I'll be keeping this one brief so I can get to be super early tonight and get a fresh start tomorrow morning).  With the advent of having my own art software fail me and thus set me back on progress of a picture, and brushing up on my math skills by taking an online test (and barely failing it, if that makes any sense) and getting curiously interested in reading up on my Gamemaker software, I think I'm having a bit of a refocus as to what areas I really want to develop myself creatively.  For the longest time I've been focusing more or less strictly on my artwork, but since I am gung-ho on being involved in the game industry and am trying to build up the skills on my own and a portfolio while I await having the cash and an opportunity to go to school, I have decided to honestly begin more focus on that area and over the next few months I plan on becoming as knowledgable with the program as humanly possible.  I'll be doing things in little chunks and posting progress up on the blog I suppose weekly or every few days-whenever shit gets done-b/c if I'm really serious about this, I need to start focusing on it and putting the efforts out there for feedback and just to show that I can get it done, and to see how my skills progress.  So yes, here's a cheer to getting serious and focusing on my game design/programming skills, and not too long from now I wanna really get back into sound engineering/audio music creation as well.  There's so many tunes I'd like to compose, and new techniques to try as the music's been infecting my soul lately.

So let us see,...other than that shit, I also have a few more art projects I wanna work on, but specifically what those'll be (after the two comission-esque projects) is still a curiosity even to me.  The main goal of course is that I pay equal focus to traditional skill development and digital skill development, both seperately and intermangling them together (don't c'ha love it when the shit mixes up togetha?), and while at it, some rumidetary 3d modeling won't hurt.  But I know already people, it's not enough to just SAY you're gonna do shit; progress and result gotta be had, and that's exactly what I plan on doing around here.  Not saying you'll be able to know when shit's coming like I'm a robot on a schedule or shit like that, but I want it to be fairly consistent.  That's the LEAST I can do, personally.  Oh and that comic I was talkin' about is getting prime for exposure, but again that's for another time.

Mmm what else?  Well I'm fending on practicing up my SmashBros Brawl technique around tomorrow and shit when I got free time, and play through Sector 6 of Iji (game's getting proper "challenging" now, and loved that fight with the Assassin even if it took me half the fight to figure out a strategy with the puny shotgun as my main weapon and a fully charged jump which SAVED MY FUCKING LIFE ON SO MANY OCCASIONS.  Oho, you cannot underestimate the jump folks).  While at it, here's hoping I finally get my hands on the Big N's magma opus of '07, Mario Galaxy.  Been wanting that for a while, and I'll see if Kirby wants my attention too.  Then there's some seriou job hunting to be had though sadly art jobs around my way are very few and far between, so maybe getting art work for a comic or manga or just as a character or set designer it okay, but that's still a while off.  Do need work though, that's for sure.  Mmm and-this is just off the record-but if you haven't already, please go an' see Zack and Miri Make A Porno.  I honestly sorta think it's between that and Tropic Thunder for comedy of the year, barring me getting a chance to see Role Models and Pineapple Express and having some different thoughts.

Mmm, about tomorrow's post,...I have no idea.  Let's keep the doors open on that one, and maybe something big an' good will go through my head.  Personally I wouldn't mind getting a little political, but who knows.  We'll see.  Anyways, the night's growing long and the eyes growing tired.  This is John signing off, wishing you a merry good sleep and the energy to see tomorrow as a great and awesomely ass kicking day, as it always should be.  'Till then, later

So About Tonight

Another day sets, and so the cycle prepares itself for another 24 hours of crass, fun, debachuray and other mindless and slightly thought out antics as 12 am is only tres minutes around the corner (as I type this very sentence mind you).  I never really thought of exactly how much time actually encompasses a day itself or how much you can get done in that frame of 16 hours (minding if you get your rec'd sleep; your eyes BEG for it) if you actually don't horse around.  Myself?  Able to get a bit done.   Not as much as I'd like, but when you're babysitting (btw I am so NOT that babysitting type.  Sometimes I just wanna grab the little twits by the neck and strangle them 'till they're more lob-headed than Bart Simpson on that episode of treehouse of terror where the town gypsy stikes-shall I say curses-the family.  Not that they deserved it, but Homer's fat ass certainly did and a whole lot more), whatEVER you get done aside of that is worthy of being proclaimed as a feat in and of itself.

So, yeah I'm nearing completion of a tribute piece (of sorts) of Ren and Rocko, which should be done by early morning.  As soon as THAT's outta the way, up to my deviantART profile it goes, ...just a 'sec (rushes off to turn off annoying ass alarm clock.............didn't quite RUSH off but fuck it it's 12 am)...alright so anyway, as I was saying, I'll upload it to that in the morning, then likely simultaneously get to work on another picture for my friend that needs some attention after 'bout a week of getting no love, and I'll see if there's a Bugatti Veyron that's complient enough to get the pencil and brush work (Lord knows why I like it so much all of a sudden, but I'm not complaining.  The car loving John is BACK and in full fucking effect.  YEAH!!).  I also have a swell of an idea for a webcomic series of mine, but that's something to talk about later on.  So's a lot of other shit, so yeah this entry's about nothing more than random thoughts.  Truth be told, I am just wanting to go off and look at some more Mezzo and maybe a LITTLE bit of porn (I'm curious,...how DO they do it without those thoughts of feeling like shit coming to haunt them.  The mind boggles hehe) while the translation freaks over at Mangahelpers try figuring the kanji that disguises the real deal with this week's Naruto chapter (which, I must say, seems to be gaining some momentum in terms of interesting me.  Just hope Kishi doesn't fuck it all up with a dumb story thread worked in there.  Again, some argument for another time).  Then of course there's the obligatory musical half-hour or so so my brain can mellow out (even if we're blasting speedcore and metal up in that bitch), watch a bit of OTG (who's Youtube channel is awesome; that guy really deserves his own show or something like that, whever the hell networks decide to fully embrace games as something non-taboo (relatively speaking in terms of how they treat Hollywood and shit) and give it some proper air time aside from the latest dumbass shooting his best friend over an argument while inciting Doom or GTA made him do it) and then giving the pupils a nice blanket to keep warm in for about a third of a day.  That is life, my life, and I will see you guys tomorrow.  Much love, and happy living doing what you do.  See 'ya and g'nite.

P.S:  Now I guess I'm a "Role Model" for my little nephew.  Aww--shut it, I don't wanna hear the sentimentals so I won't have to do the crooning.  Ah well, guess I need to watch "Role Models" for some spiritual guidance in the right thing to do.

'Ello World

Golly gee fuckities, well itn't this somethin' new?!?--Jesus Christ now I must repent for perhaps the worst accented opening in all of the world (unless there's one worst and I sure as hell do not want to know what THAT could be).  It all boils down to a simple "hello everyone", and I'd like to welcome you all to my freshly born blog.  Trust me, it will be worth it in time (or perhaps immediately if you take introductory posts to be the sort of thing the greatest blogs are made of, and if that's so I feel sorry for you).

So what exactly will this blog be about?  Well, anything and everything you can likely think of that doesn't involve me doing illegal acts or getting sent to the slammer, unless of course I happen to be driving drunk one night.  But I assure you, I'm not THAT sort of person ('least not yet; we never know what time can do to us until it actually takes its course).  Let me just say that I'm a creative conassoire (did I spell that right?) through and through; I love the arts, especially those that try something different (which ALL of them should, but I can accept by-the-books so long as it's good).  I'm a big fan of manga/anime (though selective and definitely not into the whole "cosplay" scene stuff but I appreciate that and get a kick outta seeing good ones out there.  Those costumes take a shit load of time to make), and also an admirer of good ol' USA animation and even fending on reading some actual American COMICS (yeah I know; I thought they were urban legends myself) in the future, such as Watchman, Batman, Xmen, Spawn, and all the other good shit.  I'm just really jonesing for them, and for good reason.  I also deftly  love gaming; all aspects of it, though sadly I do not OWN any of the next-gen consoles YET but that won't be the case much longer.  I love playing my games new and old, and it's actually a dream-scratch that-GOAL of mine to be heavily involved in the industry as a designer.  That being said, I'm no idiot; I've done my research and know that it takes a LOT of work and luck to get to that step, so while I'm working on going to school for that and hopefully art and literature, I'll be doing some spare gaming projects of my own and keeping up with all the industry's news and of course having my own insight on things of that nature.  Mmm what's see,..what else?  OH YEAH!!  I LOVE drawing and painting.  Just love love love it.  It's actually fairly recent that I've gotten back seriously into the swing of it, and my deviantART account's where it's all at (awesome community over there too though artBistro looks much more like where I'll be swinging for more "mature" conversations of art, easily.  I need to use that account by the way).  Over the course of well whatever, I'm hoping on just refining my style and getting it to that creatively realized awesomeness of a level (note I didn't say "just perfect". People have a tendency to say that when in actuality nothing's perfect and can't be, but w/e with that) where I feel like I've come into my own.  That'll be a LONG while and tons of practice and mistakes, but it's gonna happen eventually.  Then there's music, film, cooking, health on the side, nature and well you get the idea.  Like a lot of you, I'm interested in a shitload of things, some more than others, and this'll be the place to express my love for those very things in the world.  So think of it as a life journal, except it can't get wet if it drops in water hehe.

So that's me in a nutshell, and definitely only a bare beginning of it all.  Oh yeah, one more thing:  you might notice I type/write a lot.  Well there's actually a trait/thing where serial killers (do NOT ask why I'm mentioning that; just saw it on the Bio channel one day and thought it was pretty interesting) who have a brain-esque condition before committing murder have a compulsive tendency to write every bit of their thoughts down, no matter how mundane they may be.  This DOESN'T mean I'm gonna whack a fool folks, and it DOESN'T mean I've got some parasite or tumor or some shit that's making me do this (though I've not had a CAT scan or anything like that so you never know), but it could mean I'm just obsessed with writing and typing everything down.  This could spell a lifetime of torture for my hands but thankfully I work out enough so that they don't have to worry about carpel tunnel syndrome and shit for a good while.  Ah well; that's enough for today.  I'm off to relax and let night work its wonders on my eyes.  Maybe go outside and absorb the outdoors for a little before I hit the sacks, and I urge you guys to do the same if you can.  So, you know, later out and g'nite.
